The redone evaluation

I would only view the slides below as screenshots, giving an idea as to what is in the evaluation but not the full feature as the evaluation has certain effect (such as pictures) masking the text behind, aswell as text which wont appear untill you view the presentation. For your convinece I will provide the necarsary download link here, simply click on the tab titled file and then scroll the cursor down to download a copy and then open it up in powerpoint to view it in full.
It also appear possible to view the presentation in full online here.

Post evaluation comments:

The cut down version of the music video was difficult because after I'd removed the introduction and ending credit scene the narrative felt slightly hollow. To amend this I included the beginning and ending of the advert for the music video.
The problem with this however was that my computer with the original advert files on stopped working (the battery overheated and caused a electrical blow out). This meant that I had to try and work with the youtube file which was only a single layer, meaning I was restricted to how far I could edit it.
Furthermore this caused a noticeable jump in the quality of the music video. I would argue that since I kept the spiral transition effect from the extended video (although it is only very brief, a second or two at the most), that it provides a visual change matching the audio change. This gives the illusion that the music is playing inside the van hence why it gets louder and clearer once the scene changes.
This is like using non diegetic sounds in a diegetic style.

There are points in the video where I had to cut the actual song apart (due to the three minute time limit of this version). These jumps are noticeable, but I would argue that they give a sense of tension building up to when you finally hear them in full right till the end, making these scenes more prominent and imposing.

Three Minute Cut

As suggested by my media tutor, I have made a three minute cut down version of the spirit of Albion the music video that you can watch below:

Reply from The Bard

So its a little late to put this up for marking, but I thought I’d do it anyway!
Turns out that Damh the Bard replied sooner to seeing my video than I realised, but thanks to my unorganised email system I didn't catch it in time. However he appeared to have enjoyed it greatly, which pleases me and makes me feel more confident about my video!

This should have been uploaded on the 19th

Oak ash and Thorn

I thought it may be appropriate to go over the thought behind the credit scene. While it is obvious that in the song "The spirit of Albion" by Damh the Bard the lyrics Oak, ash and Thorn are sung, this is only one part of the reason for having it as a central focus in the video. In a way I felt like the credit scene could be a homage to my own tastes and inspiration as it isn't directly linked with the style of my music video itself (As in the camera movement tells a more visual and abstract story).
To make a very long point short, the main reason for the extra song added here By Peter Bellamy, is because I find it to be of strong inspiration to me.
The interesting thing is that not so long ago I found this music video by a Celtic rock band called Coyote Run,

I think that this video is actually really well done, in many ways it is very simple, but the execution and style is so top notch and crossed with a slight bit of humour so that the band doesn't appear over serious. They sing a cracking version and I just thought it deserved a little recognition!

Planet Man Ill be there

I meant to upload this a week ago but only saved it as a draft. Anyway this song inspired me to do the special effect scenes, the ones focusing on the druids at Stone Henge. This song is quite a powerful one, but I like the way that it isn't too serious about itself which I feel is the effect of having a sun float around the main singer. It also visually shows how the singer feels, trying to show the song, a possible way to caterer for people with hearing difficulties, but to still enjoy the video/gain something from it.
